The citizens of some countries are required to have a visa to Belize. Countries include Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, People's Republic of China, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
The visa application must be completed and signed then returned to the Belize Embassy. The application must include a passport size photo as well as a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining. You will also need to include a copy of your travel plans such as return tickets or a confirmed itinerary and a most recent bank statement demonstrating sufficient funds (at least $60/day). Before you finalize your travel arrangements, make sure you have received approval for your Belize visa. Processing time is approximately 72 hours.
Make sure your passport has sufficient room for the visa stamp. Most countries, including Belize require you have sufficient blank pages for arrival and departure stamps. Two pages should be sufficient.
Do not forget to check the visa requirements for other transit countries you may be passing through on your way to your destination.
A visa is valid for up to 90 days with single entry during that period. The embassy fee is $50US.
If you are a citizen of the United States or Canada, you do not need to apply for a Belize visa. If you are a permanent resident of the United States, you will be required to present your Alien registration card or green card as well as your valid passport from your country of birth. In addition, if you are a citizen of Britain, Australia, or Canada you will not need to obtain a visa for Belize.
