Before traveling to Norway, ensure that there are an adequate number of unused pages in your passport, allowing for any necessary stamps upon arrival and departure. In fact, before any international travel there should be at least two empty pages in the visa section of your passport. United States citizens can get extra passport pages by completing a DS-4085 form; found online at www.travel.state.gov. There is a fee to be paid and the price depends on how quickly the extra pages you need.

United States citizens with a valid passport do not need a visa for airport transit, tourist or business trips as long as they do not go over 90 days and the passport does not expire before the end of the scheduled trip. A good general rule for any foreign travel: If you are visiting another country, it is a good idea to obtain a visitor's visa that is valid for three months.

Travelers from countries not included in the European Union must have a valid passport and may be required to have a travel visa as well. Your passport must stamped determining the starting point of the authorized stay. If there is not an entry stamp, Border Patrol authorities may assume that the traveler does not fulfill or no longer fulfills the conditions of the stay. A traveler should keep creditable evidence, such as a letter from their employer that identifies the traveler, and their reason for the trip, in order to rebut this presumption. If travel to Norway is for pleasure, bring original letters, sponsorship papers or other documents used to obtain a Norway visa.
