If you are making plans to travel to Philippines there are some important requirements that you should know regarding your passport and Philippines visa. Any trip to an Indonesian country is going to require you to have a valid passport that has at least 6 months left before it expires.
If you are planning to stay in the Philippines for three weeks or less, you are not required to have a visa to enter the country. Instead, upon arrival a 21-day visa for Philippines is issued at no cost. You can also obtain a Philippine visa within your prospective country and you will be issued one for 21 days automatically.
A word of caution: If you only have a 21-visa, do not over stay your visa. Philippine authorities are very strict and you may find yourself in a lot of trouble.
To avoid problems, you may extend your 21-day visa by applying for an extended Philippine tourist visa to the Philippine embassy in your country or by applying to the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs located in Manila. An extended tourist visa is good for 59 days in a single 12-month period.
When you apply for an extension to your tourist visa you will need to provide some documentation. You must have your original signed passport that won't expire for at least six months pass your entry date. They will also want two passport type photos, your itinerary or copies of your round trip tickets and a bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds. You'll need to provide a copy of confirmed hotel reservations or a copy of a letter of invitation from relatives or friends in the Philippines where you will be staying.
All of the forms must be signed and notarized, and make sure you sign across the bottom front of your photograph. The fee for a single entry visa for 90 days may cost you as much as $30.00 from the embassy, and multiple entries within a 365 day period can be as high as $90.00 from the Philippines Embassy.

When you travel to the Philippines remember that these are just the entry fees. If you know you are going to visit more than once during the 365 day period remember that your maximum stay can still only be 59 days total in a 365 day period.
Be sure to ask for extra pages in your passport since the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs requires that you have extra pages for arrival and departure stamps. By keeping these requirements in mind, you should be able to travel to Philippines and have a great visit.
